Q: Which types of wireless control units can I use together with your motors?
A: The BENZ 5000, Chrosziel Aladdin, MagFox, Fox and Genio work excellent with our motors.
In addition, the motors also perform well with Seitz, BFD´s and WRC`s.
Q: Where can I get my HEDÉN products repaired?
A: Contact us for repair and service information.
Q: Where can I find your price list?
A: You have to contact us to get the current price list.
Q: What are the differences between P, T and PT motors?
A: The P (potentiometer) motor is used in a null seeking closed loop servo system which
is normally used for focus and iris. The motor position corresponds to the control knob position.
The T (tacho) motor is used for speed regulation, normally used for zoom control. The PT
motor is a focus, zoom and iris motor, to be used with AE-2, AE-3 and AZ-3 control boxes.
Q: My motors are not as powerful and fast as they used to be, what is wrong?
A: This problem can depend on many different factors. Our motors are very powerful and can
handle the stiffest lenses without any problems. Check your lens for defects. Check the
backlash between lens gear and motor gear if this is to tight it could be the problem.
If the problem still remains the motor is probably damaged in some way. Send us the serial number
of your motor and we can tell you what type and how old the motor is. HEDÉN motors are
extremely durable and won’t break down not even under the toughest conditions. Some of the
motors we have repaired are 25-years old, which have run for thousands of hours and then they
need a servicing or they should be exchanged for new ones.
Q: Is it possible to have an optical encoder mounted on Hedén motors ?
A: Yes. All the motors with a P in the model name can be fitted with an optical encoder, instead
of the potentiometer (our own control boxes don´t work on a motor with optical encoder).
Q: I would like to buy a complete HEDÉN lens control system, which components should I use?
A: The AE-2 or AE-3 focus control units and AZ-3 zoom control unit, together with the M26PT, M32PT
or the M28VPT motor will be a perfect combination for superior lens control. After using this
system you will never use a manual focus/iris or zoom device again.
Q: How long of a cable can I use between the control box (AE-3 or AZ-3) and motor?
A: You can use at least 100 meters of cable without any loss in motor performance.
Q: How can I quickly mount a M26 motor?
A: With our motor mount UM-26 or UM-26s and associated extension brackets, you can easily
mount the motor in a few seconds.
Q: Have the HEDÉN motors been improved during the years?
A: We are constantly improving all our products. A motor manufactured 10-years ago may
look the same on the outside but on the inside it has gone through many changes.
